Undefeated Carl "The Cobra" Froch told ITV Boxing that he recently spoke with undisputed super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe, who promised to give him a fight if the money is right.

"I spoke to Calzaghe last week and he said if the money was right he would not avoid me. So if he stands by what he said, it's possible," Froch said.

Calzaghe moves up to the light heavyweight division to challenge Bernard Hopkins on April 19 in Las Vegas. Froch will face Denis Inkin of Russia in a WBC eliminator in Nottingham on May 10. Should Froch beat Inkin, he would become Calzaghe's WBC mandatory. It's not a lock that Calzaghe, should he beat Hopkins, would be willing to return to 168. Froch is confident that he'll beat Inkin to put himself in line for Calzaghe.

"Styles make fights and looking at his last two fights I personally feel Inkin is made for me. It will be tough as he has never been defeated in the pro ring, but I've beaten other very tough men with bad hand injuries," Froch said. "I beat Henry Porras in the eighth after breaking my hand in round two, and Brian Magee in round 11 after breaking my hand in just the second round. It doesn't get much tougher than that, I hope!"
