Celebrated trainer Freddie Roach was very impressed with the famed ALA Gym of respected Cebu boxing patron Tony Aldeguer after a visit yesterday afternoon.

Roach had a chance to meet with two of the fighters who train in his Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles prior to fights in the US – super bantamweight Rey "Boom Boom" Bautista and super flyweight Z "The Dream" Gorres who are both rated No. 1 by the WBO.

Roach who was also keen on seeing promising youngster AJ Banal had a chance to meet him along with several other fighters training at the gym including former WBC flyweight champion and current OPBF bantamweight champion Malcolm Tunacao.

Roach who checked out the facilities at the gym said he could never have something like it in the US. Accompanying Roach was his longtime friend Billy Keene and several "Paclanders" as well as Phil Boxing founder Dong Secuya.

At the gym to meet Roach were one of the sons of Aldeguer, Jonathan "Jay" Aldeguer and well-known promoter Sammy Gello-ani as well as outstanding Filipino trainer and former world minimum weight title challenger Edito "Ala" Villamor.
