Golden Boy's star prospect, welterweight Frankie Gomez (4-0, 4 KOs), stopped Jaime Orrantia (13-27-5, 4 KOs) in the first round.

Prospect Jessie Vargas (11-0, 6KOs) stopped Ernesto Zavala (21-5, 9KOs) in the sixth round of a welterweight contest. Vargas battered him during the entire contest until the ref stepped in to stop it.

In the opener, junior welterweight prospect Jamie Kavanagh (2-0, 1KO) beat a tough Luis Sanchez (0-2) over four rounds to win a unanimous decision. The scores were 40-36, 40-36, and 39-37.
