JOHN MURRAY has his first fight for me tonight, defending his European lightweight title.
Murray, 26, also puts British boxing's longest unbeaten record on the line at York Hall having won all 30 fights.
I'm looking forward to seeing him in action. His opponent is Spanish champion Karim El Ouazghari and he'll be a live one.
Murray hasn't fought for six months, so there could be a bit of ring-rust early on. But he's going to have to get off to a flyer as Ouazghari comes to fight.
Ringside will be Kevin Mitchell, who this time last year was making big waves at lightweight.
I nearly made a fight between him and Murray but Kevin and I could not agree terms. Since then he's indicated to me that he's changed his mind and wants it.
That's great news - but John's in the box seat because he's got that European title.
I know Murray-Mitchell is a fight the fans want, while Murray wants a world title. It would be a shame if it didn't happen and I'll be trying to make it work.
All fighters can pick who they work with but I signed Murray when he was a free agent. Last month, Ricky Hatton's right-hand man, Gareth Williams, said he was working with Frank Maloney for the good of boxing.
He said: "What we are trying to do for the future of boxing is to ensure promoters work together for the good of the sport."
Sounds good. I'm sure Maloney was looking forward to it. So I imagine he was horrified when his star man Rendall Munroe jumped ship to the Hattons this week.
I bet it's not quite what he had in mind for his working relationship with Williams!
To rub his nose in it Maloney found out about it on Facebook. So much for social networking...
Maloney, by the way, guided Munroe to British, Commonwealth and European super-bantamweight titles and got him a world title shot when he was still a dustman.
Munroe's manager asked this week: "If it was a choice between boxing in front of 800 fans in Sunderland or 15,000 at the MEN, what would you do?"
Show a bit of loyalty? Looks like team Munroe binned that!
BOB ARUM was 79 this week and in a very good mood - after winning a court case over the promotional status of WBO and WBC bantamweight champion, Nonito Donaire.
After his last fight, Donaire signed to Golden Boy but a judge ruled he is still under contract to Arum.
Sad news, legendary manager and matchmaker GIL CLANCY died this week at 88. He worked with world champs Emile Griffith, Oscar De La Hoya and Ken Buchanan. My condolences to his family.
SOME have objected to a few James DeGale remarks ahead of his George Groves clash.
But those are nothing compared to the garbage Groves' promoter David Haye offers.
He said he can't wait to KO Wladimir Klitschko and see him twitching on the canvas. Jerk.
EURO middleweight champion Matt Macklin is reported not to be on Amir Khan's undercard on April 16 as he could not agree terms.
Cruiserweight DENIS LEBEDEV, who I promote, has got a big fight lined up on May 22 when he meets Roy Jones Jnr in Moscow.
