IT wasn't so long ago that the globe stood still for a heavyweight world title fight. An old-fashioned sized crowd of 60,000-odd watched Vitali Klitschko defend his WBC title in Gelsenkirchen. But the fight against the very average Albert Sosnowski means nothing.
And despite being based in the UK, he's probably best known for a fight that didn't happen - a proposed European title challenge against Audley Harrison. It fell through when Sosnowski got offered a shot at Vitali.
Klitschko is still fresh at 38, the same age John Ruiz was when he fought David Haye recently. Shane Mosley, who also got done by Floyd Mayweather, is also 38.
And Audley Harrison might get his first world title shot at that age if reports this week are anything to go by.
With David Haye's fight against Wladimir Klitschko falling through, it looks like Harrison might jump the queue. He's European champion but for the life of me I don't understand what he's done to deserve a crack at the title.
It would be box office in the UK but would not mean anything elsewhere.
Cleverly's Shot
LOOKS like Nathan Cleverly will fight for the interim WBO light-heavyweight title.
But down the road I really fancy an exciting bout between the Welshman and Tony Bellew.
Pacquiao's Tests
MANNY PACQUIAO will undergo drug testing 14 days prior to any fight with Floyd Mayweather.
If Floyd doesn't ask for more than 50 per cent of PPV cash it should go ahead
