Frank Buglioni has been ruled out of his next fight –– just hours after it was formally announced.

The British light-heavyweight champion had been set to return on March 4, exclusively live on Sky Sports Box Office.

Buglioni (19-2-1, 15 KOs) was meant to defend his crown against Ricky Summers at the O2 Arena in London, as part of the undercard to David Haye’s heavyweight showdown against Tony Bellew, as reported by Boxing Scene on February 10.

But ‘The Wise Guy’, from Enfield, who signed promotional terms with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Sport on Tuesday, has been forced out of his fight against the undefeated Summers (12-0, 5 KOs) after picking up an injury.

The 27-year-old revealed the disappointing news on social media, saying that further news would be released soon.

“[It’s a] very bittersweet day for me,” he wrote on Twitter. “[I’m] delighted to be joining [Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing] but devastatingly picked up an injury in sparring today.

“I am en-route to have the best and fastest treatment possible and will have more news soon. I apologise to all parties.”

Haye’s mouth-watering showdown against Bellew is flanked by a stellar supporting cast.

Bellew’s fellow Liverpudlian Derry Mathews takes on undefeated Ohara Davies in a challenge for the Hackney man’s WBC Silver super-lightweight title as part of the card which also features undefeated cruiserweight Craig Glover.

Elsewhere, Sam Eggington faces ex-two-weight world champion Paulie Malignaggi in a defence of his WBC International welterweight title on the card and there is action for Ted Cheeseman and undefeated Olympic champion Katie Taylor, with further additions expected in due course.
