Former heavyweight champions, Mike Tyson and Frank Bruno, are set to reunite. The two former rivals are confirmed to appear at an amateur boxing charity event at the Effingham Park Golf Club, Copthorne, on March 24. Former British champion Scott Welch is promoting the event.

The event was originally booked for Brighton, but had to be moved when council leader Simon Burgess blocked the event because of Tyson's participation. The reason for the blocks appear to stem from Burgess having a big issue with Tyson's 1992 conviction for rape.

The promoter, Scott Welch, is honored to have Mike Tyson appear at the event and feels the appearance will inspire some of the amateurs who are less fortunate.

"Many of our lads come from underprivileged backgrounds and to show people like Tyson and Bruno taking an interest would be outstanding", said Welch
