According to manager Joel De La Hoya, super featherweight contender Francisco 'Bandido' Vargas (20-0-1, 14 KO), who holds the NABF and WBO International super featherweight championships, could potentially fight Australian Will 'Wild Will' Tomlinson (21-1-1, 12 KOs), as long Tomlinson defeats Alberto Cupido on Saturday night in Cancun, Mexico.

Vargas is poised to return to action on the undercard of Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez's return, which is going to take place on November 29 or December 6 at a venue to be determined.

Vargas was last seen in action last month at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, when he stopped former two division champion Juan Manuel Lopez on the Canelo-Lara Showtime PPV undercard.

"What's certain is that Francisco will return in a supporting fight to 'Canelo' at the end of November or in December. We are waiting for a clear result on Tomlinson on Saturday to see if it is feasible to have the fight or whether we have to look for a new opponent," De la Hoya said.
