NABF super featherweight champion, Francisco Vargas (20-0-1, 14KOs), arrived at the World Boxing Council offices in Mexico, and expressed his desire to fight for the absolute WBC title, currently held by Japanese boxer Takashi Miura. For Francisco, the most important goal is to become a strong contender for the title, and to reach that match with enough experience to win the championship.
After having participated in two Olympics, Francisco is emerging as a great prospect. He is coming off the biggest win of his career, a third round stoppage over two division champion Juan Manuel Lopez of Puerto Rico.
