Monterrey, Mexico - A powerful hook from Francisco "Panchito" Arce was the punch that gave him the win at 2:52 into the fourth round, as he stopped former world champion Isidro "Chino" Garcia in the main event of the TECATE BOXING TOUR before a full house. The promotion was put together by Zanfer and broadcast by TV Azteca and Fox Sports.
"Panchito" Arce (31-6-2, 22 KOs) pushed the fight from the first round and went after Garcia (26-8-2, 8 KOs), who tried to box, but Arce came with everything. In the second and third round, Arce let his hands go with numerous attacks. At the start of the fourth, Arce, with full support of the crowd, attacked the soft parts of Garcia, who was forced to stand and trade punches. Arce batted him with hard shots to send him to the mat to receive the count of ten from referee Jerry Benson. Arce wins North American super bantamweight belt of the WBC.
"I am delighted. I put on the pressure from the first round and it worked. I did a lot of preparation and are ready to go for a title," Arce said.
In other action, Jorge Lacierva got a knockout in 46 seconds of the first round against Edgar Riovalle.
An eight round lightweight contest ended in a draw between Sergio "Tama" Torres and Ernesto Morales.
