Multiple sources in the UK have advised BoxingScene.com that a deal has been reached for a super bantamweight blockbuster between IBF champion Carl Frampton (21-0, 14KOs) and WBA 'regular' champion Scott Quigg (31-0-2, 23KOs).

The two sides have been negotiating for a long time, on and off, and were finally able to come to terms.

Frampton's decision to come on board with manager/adviser Al Haymon earlier this year, and Haymon's close relationship with Quigg's promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom, may have helped smooth over some of the bad blood which lingered from some of the previous discussions between Hearn and Frampton's promoter Barry McGuigan.

Each fighter headlined a separate event on July 18th.

Frampton made his American debut, getting off the floor in the first round to win a twelve round unanimous decision over Alejandro Gonzalez Jr. at the Don Haskins Convention Center in El Paso, Texas.

Quigg topped a card at the Manchester Arena where he stopped former champion Kiko Martinez in two quick rounds. That victory set the stage for February's showdown, as Frampton went the twelve round distance with Martinez last September to capture the IBF championship.
