BoxingScene.com reported on Sunday that Yuri Foreman's team was considering the services of veteran trainer Emanuel Steward. That deal has been completed. Foreman will train under Steward for a few weeks to prepare for his WBA junior middleweight title defense against Miguel Cotto on June 12 in New York.

Foreman's manager Murray Wilson confirmed the deal. Steward is going to help develop Foreman's ability to throw power punches. Foreman may train with Steward in Detroit's famous Kronk Gym.

"That is correct [Steward is coming in]. It's official. Manny is going to help. It will only be for a couple of weeks, three at most," Murray said. "Yuri is great fighter and we are looking to throw more punches [against Cotto]."
