Floyd Mayweather whooped some serious tail in order to set up his pay per view mega bout with Arturo Gatti this summer. Henry Bruseles sparred many rounds with rising prospect Miguel Cotto in order to prepare for this bout and tried to fight a Cotto like style.

Bruseles weighed 150 pounds by fight night, putting on ten pounds in order to get a weight advantage on Mayweather. Mayweather showed him that he could of put on 100 pounds, he was not going to be denied the victory. Floyd showed fantastic defense, speed and power to obtain an 8th round TKO when the Bruseles corner stopped the fight.

Mayweather showed off his speed in the early rounds and then stood toe to toe with Bruseles at times to show that he had power as well. Mayweather put Bruseles down in the eight after a hard bodyshot. Once Bruseles got up, Floyd smelled blood and went for the finish. He started unloading the kitchen and put the gutsy challenger down again. Bruseles beat the count but his corner had seen enough and wanted him to take no further punishment. Miguel Cotto was seated at ringside scouting Mayweather.

Mayweather, after the big win called out both Shane Mosley and Oscar De La Hoya.

"I heard Shane Mosley is coming to 147, I heard Oscar De La Hoya is coming to 147. Floyd Mayweather will move up to 147 and fight Shane Mosley or Oscar De La Hoya." Said Mayweather

Mayweather also assured everyone the Gatti fight would happen.

"It's a big pay per view fight, the fight with Gatti will happen."

In the opener. Rising heavyweight contender Samuel Peter showed that he could be the next great fighter from Nigeria. Forget Ike Ibeabuchi, Samuel Peter is the real "Nigerian Nightmare".

Peter beat up on Cuban heavyweight Yanqui Diaz from the start. Diaz appeared to be very out of shape, sporting a belly and was exhausted by the fifth round.

Diaz got in trouble in round one and took a voluntary knee. In round two, Peter almost got himself disqualified when he got a bit over anxious. He dropped Diaz with a big bomb but then continued to hit Diaz once he went down. The referee Brian Garry took away two points from Peter.

Peter punished Diaz in the third with non stop hard punches. In the fourth round it was more of the same, Diaz was dropped two more times from big shots. The Diaz corner was urging him to start boxing or else he was going to end up being knocked out. Their prediction came true as Diaz went down again in the fifth, Peter jumped on him with plenty of big punches and the ref did the right thing and stopped the fight.

After the finish, Peter said that he is ready for all the top heavyweight fighters. he was very interesting in matching with Vitali Klitschko next.

"I'm ready for anyone. I want Vitali Klitschko, I want him" said Peter
