Former five division world champion Floyd Mayweather has rejected the constant rumors which suggest he squandered away his massive fortune.
In his two biggest pay-per-view fights, against Manny Pacquiao in 2015 and Conor McGregor in 2017, Mayweather claims to have earned a combined $600 million.
Mayweather, 43-years-old, retired in the aftermath of the McGregor bout.
Earlier in the year, Mayweather's former friend, rapper Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson, stated to media outlets that Floyd was running out of money and needed to fight again.
While Mayweather denied those claims, he won't rule out the possibility of a ring return - if the right nine-figure offer was on the table. And even then, Mayweather is not looking to fight the young lions of the sport.
“If I see an opportunity where I can entertain and have a little fun and make $600 million, why not?,” Mayweather said to Fighthype.com. “If I am going to do something, it’s got to be worth it.
“People keep saying, ‘Floyd ain’t got nobody, he don’t got this and he don’t got that’, but I’m going to break certain things down. I don’t monitor nobody else’s pockets. Am I comfortable? Absolutely. Do I make seven figures every month? Absolutely. From smart investments? Absolutely.
“There’s no number that’s worth me getting back in that ring and fighting these young fighters to get any type of wear and tear on my body.”
Mayweather's career rival, 41-year old Manny Pacquiao, continues to fight and last year captured the WBA welterweight title with a twelve round decision over unbeaten Keith Thurman.
“That’s his prerogative to do what he wanna do. I’m not going to go out there to perform and win titles and still put on a good show,” Mayweather said.
“But it’s a time and a place. It’s time for these other fighters to come up and shine. I had my time to shine.”
