LAS VEGAS --- Marcos "El Chino" Maidana forced Floyd Mayweather to fight with his rough tactics and wild punches when pinned him on the ropes in their fight on Saturday night at the MGm Grand.
Mayweather was cut for the first time in his professional career, but he still prevailed with a 12-round majority decision. The cut happened in the fourth round after an accidental head butt.
"For two rounds, I couldn't see because of the head butt," Mayweather said.
Fortunately, he made it past the fifth and the sixth rounds and the cut never became an issue because of the expert work by cutman Rafael Garcia.
"He's the best cutman in the world," Mayweather said. "I love him."
