Floyd Mayweather Jr. has taken the final step towards a pay per view mega-fight with Arturo "Thunder" Gatti this Summer. Mayweather is awaiting the results of this weekend's bout between Arturo Gatti and Jesse James Leija. Should Gatti handle business as planned this coming weekend, a bout between him and Mayweather should land in May.

BoxingScene caught up with Mayweather over the weekend to discuss his plans for the Gatti fight, possible matches against Kostya Tszyu, Miguel Cotto and a move to welterweight for possible bouts against De La Hoya, Mosley and Spinks.

BoxingScene: You did your part to get to the showdown between you and Arturo Gatti this Summer. Do you think Gatti will make the fight if he beats Jesse James Leija?

Mayweather: Hopefully because I'm ready to get it on. Everything is set on my part, it's all up to him if he wants to get an ass whipping.

BoxingScene: You don't think Gatti presents much of a challenge to you?

Mayweather: Hell no, you saw me do some easy work tonight. When Gatti gets in the ring with me your gonna see more easy work.

BoxingScene: Do you think that the fight with Gatti will finally happen?

Mayweather: I've been waiting for this fight to happen for a long time. Either he fights me or I'm the champion.

BoxingScene: Has Gatti been your goal since you moved up to 140 pounds?

Mayweather: No, I want Kostya Tszyu. Tszyu is the best fighter in the division and Floyd Mayweather only fights the best.

BoxingScene: Tszyu is the true fight you really want?

Mayweather: Tszyu is the fight I want. I'll take care of Gatti first and then I want Kostya Tszyu.

BoxingScene: Why do you think that Tszyu is craving so hard to get in the ring with Gatti, but rarely mentions your name?

Mayweather: He can make easy money with Gatti. Tszyu knows I'm a tough fight, he wants an easy fight with Gatti but if wants to be the best pound for pound then he has to face me.

BoxingScene: What about some of the other guys in the division like Miguel Cotto?

Mayweather: Cotto needs more fights to make it happen. If he gets some more fights and gets himself built up then we can make it happen.

BoxingScene: What your saying is there isn't enough money in the fight yet?

Mayweather: This is a business and I'm a businessman, we can make it happen if the money is there.

BoxingScene: You said that you would go to 147 and fight Shane Mosley or Oscar De La Hoya if they decide to come down to 147 pounds.

Mayweather: I want to fight the best. Me and Shane can do it anytime. Shane's been ducking me for years. If Oscar wants it I'll bring it Oscar. Me and Oscar can do this. I'll fight the best at 147. Cory Spinks, Mosley, Oscar,....Floyd Mayweather will fight the best fighters out there.

BoxingScene: Vivian Harris was making a lot of noise tonight and yelling that you turned him down for a fight.

Mayweather: He can keep yelling because I don't even know him. I've never seen this guy in the ring.

BoxingScene: Do you consider Gatti the best?

Mayweather: Gatti is a good fighter but he's not the best. Gatti is exciting to watch, he's a tough guy, he brings the money because the fans love him but he isn't the best. Kostya Tszyu is the best fighter in the division and if Tszyu wants it we can make it happen.
