The handlers of IBF minimum weight mandatory challenger Florante Condes say they will not agree to have the hard-hitting Filipino fight for the title against champion Muhammad Rachman in Indonesia.

 

Promoter Bobby Bostick and Condes co-manager Dante Ortiz said the IBF will “determine where and when” the fight will take place and indicated it will likely go to a purse bid  after they failed to come to terms because of what they described as the unrealistic attitude of the Indonesians.

Bostick had offered the Rachman camp $30,000 plus two options in case he lost to Condes but the Indonesians demanded $75,000 to fight in the US. In a counter offer they indicated willingness to stage the fight in Indonesia and pay Condes a $10,000 purse.

 

Ortiz warned that “if they try to play games” the IBF will most probably strip Rachman of the title. The IBF earlier gave Rachman a May 6 deadline to defend his title against Condes after he submitted a medical certificate indicating he had a shoulder problem.
