Top Rank promoter Bob Arum is reportedly interested in signing up IBF minimumweight champion Florante Condes whose future appears to be uncertain following his world title victory over Muhammad Rachmann of Indonesia last July.

That’s because of a falling out between Condes’ Filipino manager Aljoe Jaro, his American co-manager Dante Ortiz and promoter Bobby Bostick represented by Cezar Trevino.

Aljoe Jaro claims that the American group had failed to promote the career of Condes and had also prevented him from staging a planned title rematch with Rachmann at the Ynares Center in Antipolo this November.

The Filipino manager approached Arum for help to “get out of the contract” with Bostick claiming it was an onerous deal which the boxer had signed.

Aljoe Jaro is keen on getting Condes under the wing of Top Rank which has also promoted the so far successful campaign of North American Boxing Federation super bantamweight champion Bernabe Concepcion in the US.

Meantime Games and Amusements Board chairman Eric Buhain said he had received an email from Trevino stating that they were “still working on a fight that would happen in the Philippines.”

Well known boxing man Rod Nazario who steered Manny Pacquiao to two world titles and is the business manager of Condes had planned to stage the Rachmann title defense this November and was contacted by the group of Bostick and Trevino. However, Nazario said he was not interested in dealing with them in any promotion in the Philippines.
