While the euphoria of Filipino boxing fans over the three sensational victories of ring idol Manny Pacquiao, newly crowned WBA light flyweight champion Brian Viloria and WBO Asia Pacific bantamweight champion Rey “Boom Boom” Bautista remains, Filipino boxers continue to get mauled in patent mismatches in Thailand and the Games and Amusements Board appears helpless to stop it.
In the latest distressing episode, RP No. 12 ranked bantamweight Joven Jorda was knocked out at 2:07 in the third round by undefeated WBC Asian Boxing Council super bantamweight Saenghiran Looknbanyai. The Thai who boasts of 11 KO’s in 14 fights and is rated No. 3 by the WBC nailed Jorda with a vicious right straight for a one-punch KO.
Super flyweight Eric Rapada lost by a fifth round TKO to Sairung Suwanasil, the 30 year old Thai with a record of 37-8 with 24 knockouts when the ring physician ordered the referee to stop the bout because of a nasty gash over Rapada's eyebrowstoppe.
Unknown Dominador Arabrio lost a sixth round unanimous decision to WBA No. 1 lightweight Prawet Singwangcha who has a record of 27-2-1 with 16 knockouts. Arabrio was no match for Prawet who controlled the fight from the opening bell.
In a light flyweight bout Sisnorio Angerido dropped a six round unanimous decision to Pigmy Muangchaiyaphum (20-5-2, 12 KO's) while Eduardo Apa-ap lost by an eighth round TKO in a Pan Asia Boxing Association featherweight championship bout against Saohin Srithai Condo whose record was 47-11 with 31 knockouts.
Saohin was a two-time challenger for the WBA title.
