The move to settle lawsuits out of court as evidenced by the agreement reached between bitter rivals Golden Boy Promotions and Top Rank’s Bob Arum is continuing.
Pacquiao’s former manager Shelly Finkel informed Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today that he had also reached a settlement with Pacquiao, Top Rank and Arum over the lawsuits he filed against them seeking unspecified damages for allegedly concealing vital information which lawyer Judd Burstein claimed was a breach of contract.
As customary with him Finkel said very little in his email to us, declining to provide details of the settlement.
However, Pacquiao reportedly told former business manager Rod Nazario during a recent visit to Nazario’s home, that he had told Finkel in a meeting in New York that he didn’t owe him any money because Finkel had failed to pay the business manager the ten percent share of Pacquiao’s $1.75 million purse that was due to him for the first fight against Erik “El Terrible” Morales.
