A Filipino boxer identified as Lino Pongan from Viracm Catanduanes has been knocked out in the third round by Japan’s Joji Osaki in a fight card at the Sun Dome in Fukui.
According to the website boxrec.com Osaki had a ring record of 10-3-2 with 5 knockouts while Pongan whose previous recorded fight was on December 8, 2005 when he suffered a first round KO at the hands of veteran journeyman Joebar Damosmog had a record of 4-1 with 2 knockouts.
Indications are that Pongan was a Filipino living in Japan which meant the Games and Amusements Board had no control over the fighter and had no chance to prevent him from fighting without the proper GAB clearance.
