Poland - A super middleweight contest between local favorite Przemyslaw Opalach (18-2, 15 KOs) and little-known Netherlands-based Serbian Naser Ferizovic (4-1, 4 KOs), ended in bizarre fashion when the latter was disqualified early into the third for pushing the referee.
Ferizovic, 44 and a late sub for Daniel Wanyonyi, was dominated in the first two rounds but was still game though his gas tank was emptying visibly fast. In the third Ferizovic went in what was seemingly his last hooorah and soon found himself in a clinch.
He kept holding Opalach, fifteen years younger and pushed his head low - when the referee intervened. He indicated with a gesture that Ferizovic was one to violate the rules, and after that the Serbian fighter unexpectedly used both gloves to push the referee at his chest. The referee immediately waved off the fight at this point. Opalach is yet to get a win of any note.
