Tickets will go on sale Saturday for Top Rank's big fight card featuring towering heavyweight Tye Fields and world-rated welterweight Joshua Clottey at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Thursday, August 9.
Fields, a giant in the ring at 6' 8", of Las Vegas will take on Cedric Boswell of Detroit. Fields, who played basketball at Oral Roberts University and San Diego State, has a record of 37-1 with 33 knockouts. Boswell is 24-1 with 19 KOs. Boswell has won his last three bouts by knockout in two rounds or less.
Clottey, rated WBO #3, IBF #8, WBA #8, WBC #9, of the Bronx, N.Y., has a record of 31-2 with 20 KOs. He will take on Felix Flores, 22-5, 18 KOs, of Puerto Rico. Clottey, born in Accra, Ghana, is a member of the Ga tribe, a tribe of Ghanian boxing warriors including Azumah Nelson, Ike Quartey and many other top fighters.
