BoxingScene.com recently caught up with Fes Batista who recently signed with Roy Jones' Square Ring Promotions. Jones, in a recent interview with HustleBoss' Chris Robinson, revealed the details of the pact.

"I decided to give him a promotional contract. I thought it was a two year deal but it's three," said a smiling Jones to Robinson.  "I will give him the opportunity to work on his career and hopefully we will get together with Dewey (Cooper) and his management team and make it happen."

Batista, who is a Brit of Pakistani decent, said that he is thrilled to have been signed by former pound for pound king Jones and is thrilled with his whole team which includes trainer Dewey Cooper.

"This is a huge dream come true for me. He is one of the greatest of all time. When you come come from where I come from he's a superstar. I look up to him a lot. I know with someone like him behind me it is going to be great. I'm going to keep training hard," said Batista.

"I have to also give a lot of credit to my trainer Dewey Cooper. He really believed in me and has spent many hours working with me and without him this would not have been possible. He made me believe in myself."

Batista also revealed that as a 19-year-old student he was bullied because of his heritage and almost committed suicide. He said that the lyrics to Lady Gaga's "Marry the Night" helped him get past one of his darkest moments and that he is now trying to help others who may be in a situation similar to his.

"I am also an anti racism and anti bullying ambassador for the WBC. I have big dreams and want my boxing to help change the world," Batista told BoxingScene.com.

Batista finished our conservation by saying that he plans on making his pro debut in either December or January and that he promises to deliver an impressive performance.

"I am so excited to get back in the ring and repay my debt and show (Jones) what I can do," Batista stated.
