BoxingScene.com recently spoke with Mohammed Faisal (1-0) who is better known as Fes "The Terrier" Batista to get an update on his plans inside of the square circle. Faisal has been out of the ring since winning his pro debut on March 28th, 2015.
Later that year he broke his foot and in September we reported that the injury would have a lengthy rehabilitation process.
The UK based Batista, who gained fame and notoriety after being a victim of bullying and as a result was on the brink of suicide before his life change forever after listening to Lady Gaga's Marry The Night, has revealed that he finally is back in training to resume his career.
He has set up camp in Florida with his trainer and promoter Roy Jones Jr. and says that he is rededicated to his craft and can't wait to get back in the ring.
A big part of his motivation stems from his desire to make his hometown proud. Batista doesn't have a date set for his ring return but promises that it will be soon.
"I want to put Huddersfield on the map," Batista told BoxingScene.com. "Nobody has heard of Huddersfield in America and my dream is for everyone to know about Huddersfield. It's a beautiful town with lovely humble people."
Batista lifted himself up off the canvas in his debut to defeat Lawrence Purifoy (0-1 at the time) by unanimous decision in front of a packed house at the Pensacola Bay Center in Jones' hometown of Pensacola, Florida.
Jones recently announced he will have the final fight of his career at the Civic Center in Pensacola on February 8th against an opponent to be determined.
