BoxingScene.com was advised by Top Rank CEO Bob Arum that IBO bantamweight champion Vic Darchinyan and WBA interim-super flyweight champion Nonito Donaire are both realistic possibilities for WBO/WBC bantamweight champion Fernando Montiel.

Arum recently spoke with Montiel's co-promoter Fernando Beltran of Zanfer Promotions, who told him Montiel was pushing for a fight with Darchinyan. A Montiel-Donaire collision  is a serious possibility for the end of the year, and Arum would like to stage that fight in the Philippines. Arum will attempt to satisfy Montiel 's request by pursing the Darchinyan fight.

"Donaire will definitely fight Montiel by the end of the year. He [Montiel] may get a fight in with Darchinyan. I talked to Fernando last night and Montiel would like that fight. I think that Donaire and Montiel, when that fight happens, could do a record gate in the Philippines," Arum said to BoxingScene.com.
