WBO super flyweight champ Fernando Montiel, calls himself the last man standing at 115-pounds. He wants to avenge the Mexican fighters that Darchinyan beat in the past. He says that Darchinyan was talking a lot of smack after the win over Cristian Mijares, but then turned around and took a fight with Jorge Arce for February 7. Montiel is not very high on Arce.

"There is only one explanation for all this - Darchinyan is afraid of me. I can't think of another thing. He said a lot, then got quiet and took another opponent," Montiel said to ESTO. Darchinyan has three of the four title at super flyweight. I have the other, of the WBO. A win over me would make him a quadruple champion."

Bob Arum of Top Rank recently advised BoxingScene.com's Robert Morales that he is thinking of matching Montiel with the man who knocked Darchinyan out, Nonito Donaire, in the first quarter of 2009.
