The fight has been finalized. Guadalupe Valley in Ensenada, which produces the best wines of Mexico, will host the next fight of Fernando "Kochulito" Montiel on Saturday, August 20th, which is going to be promoted by Zanfer and televised by TV Azteca. "Kochulito" Montiel (45-3-2, 35 KOs) will take part in a 10-round Super bantamweight clash against solid Nicaraguan Alvaro Perez (21-3-1, 12 KOs) in the vineyards of LA Cetto Valle de Guadalupe, and area known as the "Wine Route" located on the Tecate-Ensenada highway.

Montiel recently began campaigning at super bantamweight in search of his fourth divisional world title. After losing his world title against the Philippines boxer Nonito Donaire in February, he reappeared on June 25 at his new weight and knocked out former world champion Nehomar Cermeño in three rounds.

"If all goes well on August 20, we hope to be contesting for a world title later this year. Fernando quickly overcame the loss to Donaire. A defeat does not end the race. My son is 100 percent with his physical and mental faculties," said his father and trainer Manuel Montiel.
