The WBO, per the request of Ivan Rivera from P.R. Best Boxing, has scheduled a purse bid for Eric Morel vs. Fernando Montiel for the WBO bantamweight title on February 5 at 10am at the WBO headquarters. The minimum acceptable bid for the bantamweight bout is $100,000.
The purse bid being set means that Gerry Penalosa is vacating his title to move up in weight to face WBO super bantamweight champion Juan Manuel Lopez on April 25, with the fight possibly taking place in Puerto Rico and HBO televising.
