SAN JUAN, PR – As reported as few days ago on BoxingScene.com, unbeaten lightweight prospect Felix ‘El Diamante’ Verdejo has an opponent for his October 4 fight at the Bahia Shriners Auditorium & Event Center in Orlando, Florida.
“This will be my third time fighting in Orlando and I’m happy to return once again. It feels good to know that I can count with the support of the fans in Orlando. It feels like home”, said de former Olympian.
Verdejo (14-0, 10 KO’s), who will fight for the second time in his young career at the eight round limit, will face Mexico’s Sergio ‘El Cuate’ Villanueva (26-4-2, 12 KO’s). The rugged Mexican fighter has battled eight times at the 8-round limit and on four occasions at the 10-episodes distance.
“I don’t know much about my opponent. But we know that Mexican fighters always come well prepared to leave it all in the ring. I will also be well prepared. Like my trainer says, I’m going to pay the price in the gym, where fights are really won”, said Verdejo
In first 8-round fight, Verdejo conquered a wide unanimous decision victory by dominating Chile’s Oscar ‘La Maquina’ Bravo.
That first eight round fight was a complete learning experience for me”, said ‘El Diamante’.
