Rising lightweight prospect Felix Verdejo celebrated his first fight in Philadelphia in grand style, blasting out Karim El Ouazghari in four rounds Saturday evening at the 2300 Arena.
The 21-year young stud from Puerto Rico was in control from the opening bell - a recurring theme through two fully years as a pro - before closing the show big in round four.
The official time was 1:27 of round four.
Verdejo rolls to 16-0 (12KOs), picking up his seventh win of 2014, with all but one ending inside the distance. A member of the 2012 Puerto Rico Olympic boxing team, all eyes are on the rangy lightweight to advance to the next level as he enters his third year in the pro ranks.
Jesse Hart (16-0, 13KOs) came up big in the co-feature, battering Samuel Miller into submission inside of two rounds. The second-generation boxer from Philly was quick to the draw, overwhelming Miller early, and scoring the bout's lone knockdown en route to forcing a stoppage at 2:07 of round two.
Both bouts aired via same-day tape delay on UniMas in the United States.
