WBA middleweight champion Felix Sturm (34-2, 14KOs) would love to get a unification bout with WBC king Sergio Martinez (46-2, 25KOs). He tells reporter Wolfgang Schiffbauer that Martinez is a fight he would like to take in the United States. Sturm has not fought in the United States since a controversial twelve round decision loss to Oscar De La Hoya in 2004.

Next up for Sturm is a title defense against Ronald Hearns (26-1, 20KOs) on February 19 at the Porsche Arena in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Sergio Martinez will return on March 12 in New York, but his opponent has not been finalized.

"That would be a fight we’d love to do. The American fans still remember me from my fight against Oscar de la Hoya. Sergio Martinez is the man to beat right now. He clearly beat Paul Williams and Kelly Pavlik. To be the undisputed middleweight champion, you have to defeat Martinez. I’d love this fight," Sturm said.
