It was a tough blow to professional boxing in Hungary when Felix-Promotion, headed by Felix Racz, announced in 2006 it was closing down. F P had at the time a TV deal and promoted big shows all over Hungary building up a number of good fighters.
It was however always a fact that the really big stars in Hungarian boxing signed with foreign promoters, mainly Universum in Germany, and boxing was never a money maker for Racz, who was also involved in other businesses such as a sports agency and real estate so he decided to get out.
However, slowly but surely Felix-Promotion have eased back with super middleweight Balasz Kelemen, 14-0 (11) and cruiserweight Sandor Nagy, 4-0 (4) as the main attractions. TV is again interested and Racz is back in business.
