Defending British, Commonwealth and European junior featherweight champion Tysie Gallagher has made the difficult decision to withdraw from her scheduled title defences against Ebonie Jones.
Gallagher lost a close family member following an assault in Luton last week, and a 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder.
The fight had been set for a GBM card on Friday, February 7, but will now go ahead at a later date.
“This incident has shocked and saddened us all and on behalf of myself and everyone at GBM Sports, we want to extend our deepest sympathies to Tysie Gallagher and her family at this very trying time. We would ask that fans and media respect their privacy in the weeks ahead and whenever Tysie is ready to return, we will be here for her,” said Izzy Asif, GBM founder.
The show will, however, go on, with the 11-fight show – on DAZN – being topped by Shakan Pitters take on France’s European light heavyweight champion Daniel Dos Santos.
