Eye of the Tiger add to Arthur Biyarslanov and others to Mary Spencer-Makaela Mayer title bill in Montreal

The Eye of the Tiger show, at the Casino de Montreal, will also see 14-0 (10 KOs) 20-year-old Montreal fighter Wilkens Mathieu and Quebec’s Shakeel Phinn, who is 27-3 (17 KOs), contest regional super middleweight titles.

Highly-touted junior welterweight hope Arthur “The White Wolf” Biyarslanov – who is 19-0 (16 KOs) – defends his NABF junior welterweight title against former champion Sergey Lipinets, who is 18-4-1 (13 KOs).

“Lipinets is as tough as they come, a veteran who’s seen it all, a former world champion. But that’s exactly what makes this fight exciting: experience versus hunger, the old lion against the young hungry wolf. Arthur wants to prove he’s ready to hunt with the big dogs, and this fight will show the world just that,” said Canadian Olympian Biyarslanov’s coach, Samuel Décarie-Drolet.

Undefeated light heavyweight Mehmet Unal, 13-0 (11 KOs), faces Ralfs Vilcans, who is 18-2 (7 KOs).

“Vilcans is a very solid technician who’s also extremely durable, as shown in the tough fight he gave Anthony Yarde,” said Unal’s trainer Marc Ramsay. “For Mehmet, this will be a real test to see where he stands among the elite of the division.

Montreal’s Christopher Guerrero, 15-0 (9 KOs), takes on 17-4 (7 KOs) Argentine Williams Andres Herrera.

“I am planning to show that this year is mine to take. I want a top-five ranking sooner than later and I think this fight — plus how decisively I am going to win it — will inch me closer than ever to the top of the division,” said Guerrero, who is ranked No. 19 by the WBC at 147lbs.

Other bouts on the card include two junior lightweight clashes featuring four unbeaten fighters as 11-0 (8 KOs) Thomas Chabot (11-0, 8 KOs) faces 6-0 (4 KOs) Logan Clouthier (6-0, 4 KOs) over eight round and, in a four rounder, junior amateur world champion Erik Israyelyan, who is 2-0 (2 KOs) faces Calgary’s Dylan Schroeder, 6-0 (4 KOs).
