Well known promoter Sammy Gello-ani has put up an exciting fight card which will serve as one of the highlights of this year’s Sinulog Festival on Sunday, January 21 in Cebu City.
The fight card which will be staged at the popular Gaisano Country Mall parking area will feature world-rated light flyweight Bert Batawang against Davao City slugger Flash Villacura in a ten round main event.
The fights to be telecast on the top-rated weekly boxing show “The Main Event” on Sundays at 2:00 p.m. over RPN 9 and replayed the following Sunday at 10:00 p,m. over the cable sports and entertainment network Viva Prime are sponsored by Tanduay, the No. 1 Rhum.
An exciting added attraction will be Viva Hot Babes Carla Samonte and Maricar Deniega who will serve as the Tanduay round girls.
Batawang is one of the fighters being lined up for a world title shot in the postponed Philippines-Mexico World Cup of boxing. The hard-hitting Batawang who has 30 knockouts in 37 wins against 12 losses and 3 draws recently scored a smashing first round KO over Rey Orais in Talisay City.
In another ten round battle former Philippine flyweight champion, rugged Federico Catubay takes on Pingping Tepura. Two eight round bouts between promising youngsters Rogen Flores and Nelson Llanos and Rasheid Bacus and Tata Recablanca are expected to provide fireworks.
Also seeing action are Gil Melligen vs Ricky Sismundo in a six round bout while Nic Banal takes on Ranie Pamatian and Mark John Yap faces Daryl Amoncio in four round action.
