Team Palle have scrapped plans for a show in September, and are now concentrating on the huge Markus Beyer vs Mikkel Kessler WBC/WBA super middleweight unification card on October 14 in Copenhagen. The undercard will feature WBA I/C jr middleweight champ Reda Zam Zam in a defense of the title, highly ranked super middleweight Rudy Markussen and female bantamweight Anita Christensen. Romanian Lucien Bute, signed to Canadian Interbox, could also get a spot on the bill.
IBF # 1 ranked super middleweight Robert Stieglitz, the official challenger for Joe Calzaghe, is off the show on August 19 in Halle/Saale due to a cold. Stieglitz, 28-0, has been out of the ring since winning a IBF eliminator in December of last year. He was to have fought a tuneup in April and then again here. Also off the bill is female lightweight Sina Dumer. Headlining the show in Halle is a German titlefight at welterweight between Norman Schuster and Turgay Uzun. Taking Stieglitz´s place is Malik Dziarra, back in the ring for the first time since losing to Denis Inkin.
