WBA 175 lb champion, Fabrice Tiozzo, defends the title on December 5 in Bercy. On the same show, stablemate Brahim Asloum goes for the WBA 112 lb belt against Luis Parra.
Universum/Spotlight Boxing´s series of "eliminators" began on September 20 in Prague with a very good matchup at light heavweighty between Enad Licina and Aleksyi Kuzmemsky. On September 28 in Hamburg, heavyweights Bagrat Ohanyan and Valery Chechenev will clash. Down the road we might see a fight at jr welterweight between Mohammed Abduallev and Andreas Kotelnik. Females Ina Menzer and Silke Weickenheimer might also clash - these last two are not done deals yet though.
EBU fly champ Ivan Pozo, fresh off a ko win against Lahcene Zemmouri, will take on mandatory challenger Bernard Inom. The date and site is to be announced, but respected Spanish website Espabox writes that the fight will go ahead in Madrid in November.
Danish super middleweight Rudy Markussen takes on South African Mpush Makambi on September 30 in Slagelse in a non-title eight-rounder. Promoter Bettina Palle, states that it´s possible to match Markussen vs WBA champ Mikkel Kessler in a big PPV event later this year.
Italian Simone Maludrottu defends the EBU 118 lb title on October 21 in Olbia against Belgian challenger Carmelo Ballone.
EBU 160 lb challenger Lorenzo Di Giacomo tunes up for his November 12 meeting with champ Sebastian Sylvester, by fighting on September 24 against Hungarian Roland Horvath. Rosanna Conti Cavini promotes.
Unbeaten Norwegian jr welterweight Geir Inge Jorgensen, 22-0, expects to have his visa problems solved at the end of this month and hopes to be featured in his first ten-rounder on November 4 in Detroit.
LA-based Swedish jr middle Peter Nylund returns to action October 14 in Ontario, CA. Opponent is to be announced.
Heavyweight Oleg Platov headlines Alain Vanaeckere´s show in Namur, Belgium on October 8. Supermiddle Djamel Selini, currently in Poland sparring with WBC 175 lb ruler Tomasz Adamek, is also on the bill. Vanaeckere will also promote in Liege on October 14 with super middleweight Michel Henrotin and jr middleweight Cedric Charlier on the card.
