Danish promoter Bettina Palle begin the new boxing season on September 30 in Slagelse with local lightweight Martin Kristjansen going for the WBO I/C title. The chief supports feature welterweight Thomas Damgaard and supermiddle Rudy Markussen. Also on the bill are jr. middleweight Reda Zam Zam and female stars Anita Christensen and Frida Wallberg. Palle hopes to be able to present two or three more shows during the fall including a defense by WBA super middleweight ruler Mikkel Kessler.
Team Palle has also released a statement with respect to announcing that Arturo Gatti vs Thomas Damgaard was a done deal. It´s now being said that the fight is not a done deal. They do have an offer for a Gatti fight and Damgaard has accepted. Damgaard is one of many candidates for a potential clash with Gatti in the first quarter of 2006.
