British heavy Michael Sprott, who square off against German Timo Hoffmann for the vacant EBU title June 11, have - in accordance with the EBU rules - vacated the EU title he recently won with a split call over Hoffmann´s stablemate Cengiz Koc. Koc have now along with Italian Paolo Vidoz accepted nominations as co-challengers for the EU crown. Terms for the fight will be announced soon.
 
Ex-WBO lightheavy champ Dariusz "Tiger" Michalczewski will hold a press conference June 1 in Hamburg to announce his future.
 
Hungarian Felix-Promotion have middleweight Joszef Nagy taking on South Africa Andile Tshongolo on top with jr middle Attila Kovacs vs Aladino Alanis as co-headliner. At stake in both cases are, surprise, surprise, the WBA Int´l titles. Also on the bill is jr light Janos Nagy, who take on Russian Yuri Romanovich.
 
Czech O.K-K.O. Promotions stage a show June 17 at the Pyramida Hotel in Prague. Headlining are cruisers Dan Jerling and Pavol Polakovic. Then September 10 at the Hilton Hotel in Prague cruiser Lubos Suda returns after the loss to Lasse Johansen in what is announced as a 12-round fight. Lightheavy Ladislav Kutil goes for the vacant Czech Int´l title in the chief support.
 
WBA bantam ruler Wladimir Sidorenko is indeed sidelined with a broken thumb and it is expected he needs a month to recover.
