Ukrainian jr middleweight Sergej Dzinziruk, signed to Universum, has vacated the EBU 154 lb title.
Universum announced on November 19 that Michel Trabant is out of the IBF eliminator that was set for November 26 in Leverkusen, due to a cut suffered in sparring. Official headliner for the show is WBA bantamweight champ Wladimir Sidorenko´s title defense against Jose Jesus Lopez. But, for Universum´s network partner ZDF, it´s super middleweight Jurgen Brahmer who´s shown live taking on Costa Rican Henry Porras.
Jackson Chanet´s win over Vitaly Tsypko on November 18 in St Dizier didn´t just get him the EBU 168 lb title but was also a WBA eliminator.
French middleweights Morrade Hakkar and Pierre Moreno clash on December 10 in St Pierre de la Reunion for the national title.
Universum promotes in Munich on January 7. A press conference will held on November 22 where more details will be announced.
Cruisers David Quinonero and David Blanco clash for the vacant Spanish title on December 8 in La Coruna.
Evans Ashira, the African Warrior, sent an email with a correction to my note on his fight against Joe Calzaghe. Ashira writes he did suffer a hand injury in the last sparring session a week before the fight. But the shoulder injury that required surgery occurred in the fourth round in the fight against the WBO 168 lb champ.
