On July 1, in Hamburg, Germany, WBO 175 lb champ Zsolt Erdei scaled 174 lbs while challenger Medhi Sahnoune came in at 173. The referee for the fight will be American Joe Cortez with former WBO champ Istvan Kovacs as the supervisor. Kovacs will be assisted by another ex-champ, Romanian Michael Loewe, who´s learning the ropes from his former stablemate.

Heavyweight prospect Alexander Dimitrenko weighed in at 249 lbs with co-challenger for the vacant WBO I/C and IBF Int´l titles, Andreas Sidon, coming in at 222lbs.

Cruiser Aleksander Petkovic, 199.5, might be in for a tough night against Ukrainian Vadim Safonov, 194, in the best match of an eight-fight undercard.

French promoter Michel Acaries says he will try to put together the fight for the vacant WBA "standard" cruiser title between Valery Brudov and Virgil Hill on August 20 in Levallois.

Purse bids for WBC 175 lb ruler Tomasz Adamek´s defense against Universum´s Thomas Ulrich have been postponed for another two weeks. Ulrich will not have tuneups inbetween but will stay focused on his big chance. Adamek is promoted by Don King Productions.

WBC supermiddle champ Markus Beyer´s defense on September 3 in Berlin against Omar Sheika, goes ahead at the classic Deutschlandhalle. Oktay Urkal defends the EBU welter title against Dane Thomas Damgaard in the chief support.

German lightheavy Kai Kurzawa takes on Frenchman Martial Bella Olema on July 16 in Nuremberg on a Sauerland Event promoted card.
