Danish promoter Bettina Palle has now announced the "alternative" show promised in the press release that reported the cancellation of WBA super middleweight champ Mikkel Kessler´s defense against Vitaly Tsypko due to injury. The same date, June 9, but different site as WBA I/C jr middle champ Reda Zam Zam takes on Spaniard Pablo Navascues at the Vejlby Risskov Hall on the outskirts of Aarhus. This fight was already announced. Welter Christian Bladt will again take on Russian Maxim Nesterenko. Bladt lost a close, disputed call to Nesterenko on the Kessler vs Lucas bill on January 14. Thomas Damgaard returns after the Gatti loss and is in against Brit Francis Jones. Feather Spend Abazi fight Ukrainian Genndy Delisandru. There will all in all be nine fights on the bill.
Finnish middleweight Kai Kauramaki takes on Frenchman Francois Bastient on June 9 in Fourmies, France, in a 12-round titlefight.
WBO I/C welterweight champ Jan Zaveck, signed to SES in Magdeburg, Germany, returned home to Ptuj, Slovenia, last night and stopped Kazachstan´s Andrey Yeskin in the tenth round. Zaveck again impressed in picking apart a slick, tough opponent. On the undercard supermiddle Denis Inkin won a unanimous decision over Konni Konrad over eight. On paper it looked very good but in reality neither produced any fireworks. In the co-headliner cruiser Firat Arslan stopped Hungarian Gabor Halasz in the second to retain the WBO I/C crown.
