The show is on: The Swedish Martial Arts Delegation approved late last week the application for longer distance than the 12 minutes that is generally approved in Sweden for the heavyweight clash between Otto Wallin and Gianluca Mandras for 10x3 on April 22 in Sundsvall.

The law requires that the application is made 60 days in advance and should an opponent pull out there is a problem to get a substitute approved. This time the problem is avoided as Russian Apti Davtaev and American Kevin Johnson are approved as opponents as well should there be a problem with Mandras.

There is a similar moved made in the WBC female super welterweight fight between Ewa Piatkowska and Mikaela Lauren where Noni Tenge is accepted as a suitable opponent. Also approved were a fight between Oscar Ahlin and Bernard Donfack and Daniel Harvig vs Bernard Alloa.

There´s been some late changes to the Danish Fight Night show April 7 in Copenhagen. Light heavy Jonas Madsen (8-0) is now fighting Bosnian Mirsad Cebo (10-0) and not Colombian Beibi Berrocal, who has been forced to pull out after being attacked and stabbed several times.

Also out is dangerous journeyman Patrick Mendy and he´s replaced by Frenchman Maurice Possiti as opponent for Jeppe Morell, also at light heavy. Heavyweight Pierre Madsen is in against Bosnian Mirko Tintor. Super middle Lolenga Mock take on American Dereck Edwards in the ten round non-title main event.

Cruiserweight Marco Huck lost the fight to Mairis Briedis with the vacant WBC title at stake April 1 in Dortmund. Huck also held the IBO title at that time but following the loss to Briedis that title is now vacant.

For Huck Box Promotion, the show was the last in a three fight deal with network RTL and while the now ex-champ vows to be back, the road back might be longer than expected and for smaller money.  For German boxing the loss means that the country now only have one world champion and that is WBA regular champ Tyron Zeuge.
