EBU 135 lb champ Juan Carlos Melero Diaz defends against French-based Romanian Mihaita Mutu on February 3 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Ex-WBC jr middleweight title holder Javier Castillejo is featured on the undercard, as well as Oscar Sanchez vs Jesus Garcia Simon in a Spanish 130 lb title fight.
Former IBF welterweight ruler Michele Piccirillo and Lukas Konecny clash for the vacant EBU 154 lb title in Bergamo on February 24.
Ex-WBC 168 lb champ Eric Lucas has arrived in Denmark for final preparations towards his January 14 challenge against WBA ruler Mikkel Kessler. Lucas is done with sparring while Kessler closes out his sparring on Saturday. Both men are full of praise for each other, but are both equally confident of victory.
Czech OK-KO Promotions plans to put on 8-10 shows during 2006 beginning January 27 in Prague with cruiserweight Lubos Suda on top. OK-KO will outside of Suda also use Dane Lasse Johansen as "one of their own" after his three wins there last year.
Italian jr middleweights Sven Paris and Tobia Loriga clash in an eliminator for the vacant national title on February 3, no venue has been announced. The winner will then go on and fight Emanuele Grilli.
Spanish super bantamweight prospect Kiko Martinez is featured on the undercard to Petkovic vs Amrane on January 24 in Hamburg. French jr welterweight Willy Blain square off against Hungarian Laszlo Komjathi.
Norwegian heavy Leif Dolonen Larsen takes on Hungarian Karoly Kovacs on January 13 in Torrevieja. Jr welterweight Geir Inge Jorgensen is off the bill.
