Luan Krasniqi has accepted the position to official challenger to EBU heavy champ Paolo Vidoz. Vidoz makes a voluntary defense of the title on January 28 in Berlin against Cengiz Koc. Krasniqi relinquished the EBU title earlier this year to concentrate on his upcoming WBO title fight against Lamon Brewster. Luan was TKO´d by Brewster in nine rounds.
German´s best amateur in the last few years, Vitali Tajbert, has finally turned pro and signed with Spotlight Boxing. Tajbert, Euro champion and Olympic Bronze Medal winner in 2004, was surrounded with pro rumors well before the 04 Olympics in Athens.
48-year old ex-champ Gianfranco Rosi has a fight lined up on February 2 in Qatar in the Persian Gulf. Rosi, a holder of numerous belts at 154 (IBF, WBC, EBU) in the late 80´s/early 90´s, campaigns at 160 these days.
Slovenian Jan Zaveck defends the WBO I/C 147 lb title on December 13 in Solden, Austria, against Chilean Joel Mayo. Spotlight Boxing promotes. Mayo is based in Austria.
Dutch based Top Sports Group have rescheduled their planned December show to February, due to some sponsorship changes.
