German heavyweight Luan Krasniqi has replaced Sinan Samil Sam as mandatory challenger for EBU champ Vladimir Virchis. Krasniqi headlines the Universum show on December 2 in Berlin and Virchis will make a voluntary defence on that bill. If both win, Virchis vs Krasniqi could then happen early in 2007.
WBC and WBA super middleweight champ Mikkel Kessler will go along with Mogens Palle to attend the WBC Convention in Croatia this weekend. According to teampalle.dk Palle will also meet with the WBC ratings committee to sort out the details for Kessler´s mandatory defence against Librado Andrade.
Ex-WBA light heavyweight champ Fabrice Tiozzo, who announced his retirement a week ago is now hinting in an interview in a French paper that he will be ready for a comeback if something interesting comes along.
WBA I/C jr middleweight ruler Reda Zam Zam is likely to have a tuneup on Team Palle´s show in Skive on November 3 and could then be headlining a Palle show in Horsens on November 24.
Congratulations to Zsolt Erdei and Anabella Stanzig del Mar to the birth of their first child. Erdei could be defending the WBO 175 lb title on January 27.
Russian middleweight Armen Sargsyan outscored Benjamin Odametey in Zvenigorod on October 21. Odametey was floored in the ninth but got up to last the distance.
Norwegian Stonehand Promotions will have jr middleweight Nikita Dubunin and jr lightweight Andreas Evensen on the undercard to Huck vs Aurino on November 4 in Muhlheim an der Ruhr.
Steel Ring Promotions in the north of Finland have two pro/am shows scheduled for December. On the Dec. 2 they are in Vasa with heavyweight Juho Haapoja on top while Swedish super bantamweight Karl Larsson-Jones headlines in Iisalmi on Dec. 9.
