Universum has announced it's two big October events: On October 21 card in Halle/Salle with WBC Int´l supermiddle champ Mario Veit headlining along with WBO jr middle ruler Sergei Dzindziruk, and the former "biggest prospect in German boxing ever" Jurgen Brahmer on the comeback trail after the upset loss to Mario Veit. On the October 28 card in Stuttgart, Universum have cruiserweight Firat Arslan and heavyweight Ruslan Chagaev on top.
 
WBO I/C featherweight champ Andres Meszaros defends the title against Moebi Sarouna from Togo on September 9 in Szentes. On the same show, Janos Petrovics and Laszlo Buranyi clash for the vacant Hungarian jr. middleweight title. EBA super middleweight title holder Joszef Nagy vs. Darren Rhodes is the main bout.
 
Former EBU cruiserweight champ Aleksander Gourov is looking to return to the ring this Fall. Gourov, from Ukraine, lost the title to David Haye in just 45 seconds in December of last year.
 
WBA super middleweight champ Mikkel Kessler has begun sparring for his October 14 showdown against WBC counterpart Markus Beyer. Kessler is sparring with Russians Sergey Tatevosyan and Eric Teymour, both southpaws like Beyer.
 
Belgian welterweight Jackson Osei Bonsu, mandatory challenger for EBU champ Frederic Klose, will have a tuneup on September 29 in the UK.
 
Swedes Tonton Semakala and Vatche Wartanian are now managed by Paddy Fitzpatrick, who is also their trainer. Both men still have fights left on their contracts with Elite Box Promotion but it remains to be seen if they go through with them.
