Ticket sales for the Markus Beyer vs Mikkel Kessler WBC/WBA 168 lb unification fight on October 14 at the Parken Arena have begun today. Check out teampalle.dk for more info. Kessler, never out of shape, officially began training for the fight today and will stay at the CIK gym in Copenhagen while Beyer is already in training camp with his stablemates at Sauerland Event in Zinnowitz by the Baltic Sea.
Spanish jr middleweight Ruben Varon returns to action after a hand injury tomorrow (Aug 5) in Palma de Mallorca with a six-round tuneup against Freddy Blanco.
WBA I/C welter champ Yuri Nuzhnenko defends the title on September 23 in Kiev. Opponent might be Russian Maxim Nesterenko. On the same show jr middleweight prospect Zaurbek Baysangurov square off against Argentinian Javier Mamani for the vacant WBC Int´l title. Lightheavy Vyacheslav Uzelkov is also on the bill.
Hungarian Slimtrax Promotions begin the new season August 26 in Budapest with a small show at the Emperor Garden headlined by Krisztina Belinsky and Zoltan Kiss, Jr. On the day before, also in Budapest, Polish Boxing Promotion put on a show with newly crowned WBF cruiserweight champ Gyorgi Hidvegi on top and with jr middleweight Joszef Matolcsi in the co-feature.
