WBA super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler will now have the next defense of the title set for June 9 at the Brondby Hall in Copenhagen. This is the same venue where he won the title against Manny Siaca and earlier this year he stopped Eric Lucas there. Opponent has yet to be announced.
Belgian cruiserweight Ismail Abdoul won the vacant EU title in Gent with a unanimous decision over Dutchman Don Diego Poeder. It was scored 96-94, 96-94 and 97-94. Super middleweight prospect Michael Henrotin won a close call over Frenchman Philippe Mendy on the undercard.
Super middleweights Denis Inkin and Konni Konrad clash on May 23 in Ptuj, Slovenia, in another Spotlight Boxing / Universum eliminator. Also on the Ptuj bill is a clash at light heavyweight between Mahamed Ali and Aleksy Kuziemski.
Jean Marie Codet won the French bantam title with a ten round points win over John Bikai on April 22 in Loiron.
